Main role of V3D in the telecom industry

V3D is a software editor for the telecommunications industry. We are providing solutions allowing mobile network operators to measure and monitor their global quality of service and quality of experience on their networks. More precisely, we are checking how smartphones interacts with mobile network operators’ infrastructures.

V3D has developed a solution that gives a complementary and unique understanding on smartphones’ connection technical aspects such as average throughput or call connections that failed, on a mobile operator network. Thanks to EQual ONE, mobile network operators can identify and prevent network issues, optimise throughputs to provide a better access to services such as voice or data (internet).

Details about EQual ONE solution

EQual ONE solution provides a mobile application for smartphones that can be either or not downloaded by a pre-registered user. This application is not embedded within any commercial smartphones. EQual ONE is neither a rootkit nor a modified firmware.

EQual ONE is currently being tested on different mobile networks, and only for mobile operators’ internal use only. The application is being installed on operator engineers ‘ smartphones or « friendly users » who had willingly agreed to be a part of a test panel after registering terms of use.

Install / Uninstall process

V3D is abiding to rules and laws on private data protection, and on software terms of uses. EQual ONE install process requires the end user full consent (opt-in).

Our solution cannot be installed directly or automatically on smartphone without any user’s triggering. User has to agree to the terms of use before downloading the application. He can disagree and leave the install process. In addition, he can uninstall our application on his smartphone whenever he wants, just like any other mobile application.

Data gathering techniques

V3D only gathers technical data for a statistic purpose. Our data is meant for mobile network operators’ technical departments in order to identify issues between smartphones and network infrastructures. For instance, our software solution gathered data such as Reception Strength Signal Indicator, hand over between technologies (2G to 3G), Network Cell Identity, minimum or maximum throughput or failed call connections.
This data is exclusively devoted for mobile network operators and is not used by V3D or any Third Party for a different use.

Our job is only to help and assist mobile network operators, to provide to their subscribers a high service quality and the best customer experience.
